One of my great favourites, Ricky, and we too sang it at our Palm Sunday Eucharist. Unfortunately I couldn't get to the Good Friday service because of our visitors, which felt very odd.
I saw you had posted and waited - just waited - for the moment when I knew whatever you shared would be warm and hopeful, holy and filled with blessedness. It is. Thank you for the beautiful post and wishes for a blessed Easter floating across the pond to you and yours.
Thank you so much, Penny. I'm glad you appreciated my choice so much. I felt I had uncovered a treasure when I came across this version of one of my most favourite hymns. I love the thought of our mutual Easter wishes floating across the pond. :)
This hymn sounds very english to me, lovely and joyful. Love for the loveless, is a very good way of putting it. Perhaps you remember i mentioned to you some months ago, we are in difficult times and things have been rough, but I sense there have been prayers on our behalf and things are turning from Getsemane to Ressurexit!! Thank you for those two posts, Perpetua, may you be blessed with the light of Easter all spring!!! Only we had snow again today.....something wrong here, guess it's Trump...he could use some praying!!!
I'm glad you liked the hymn, Solveig. It is one of my favourites and is, as you say, very English. I'm so very glad to hear that things are improving for you at last and Easter is starting to win through. I have indeed been praying and I'm sure others have been too. As for the late April snow, you aren't alone in that. We had snow here on the north coast of Scotland yesterday!
I wish you and your family a blessed Easter, Perpetua.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jennifer and the same to you and your family.
DeleteA beautiful hymn with wonderful illustrations Perpetua. Wishing you Easter Blessings, from Australia to Scotland.

We're 'enjoying' an interesting variety of April showers, Yam. ;) Easter is always a wonderful celebration for me.
DeleteA wonderful hymn, which we sang on Palm Sunday at the offertory, & will sing again this afternoon as we mark the 'Last Hour on the Cross'.
