Christmas – which was happy and relaxed and filled
with well-chosen presents and food.
Charades - the game of choice for DS’s family.
Grandson#3 (who turns 11 today) has been a master of charades for years, easily
putting his grandparents’ efforts completely in the shade.
Concert - two of them in fact. The two older
grandsons went on short holiday courses just before New Year with the wonderful
Yorchestra organisation,
Grandson#1 playing his trumpet in Y1 and his younger brother his bassoon in Y3.
We had the pleasure of attending their respective concerts on December 30th
and had a marvellous time.
Card games - and board games. No TV at DD’s house, but lots of
games and reading and a fair bit of music too.
Church - our new Associate Vicar will be inducted this evening, so I'm off to welcome her and wish her luck.
Consultant – who will see me at the fracture clinic at
Aberystwyth hospital tomorrow for my six-week review. Watch this space…

What a lively Christmas!
ReplyDeleteIt was indeed, Linda. I've come home for a rest. :)
DeleteThe C's have it then, Perpetua, and I am hoping that you will have been considered "cured" tomorrow. What a trooper you have been through this tough season of yours with the injury, but, your pride in your grandsons pours out so lovingly and your Christmas sounds so peacefully delightful. Starting to take our Christmas down here now that the "wise guys", as our girls used to say, have come.
ReplyDeleteOh, so am I, Penny! Only a few hours to go now before I know. I'm tremendously proud of all our three grandsons and can't believe how fast they are growing up. We had a really lovely time with both families. Christmas will come down here too, once I'm back from the hospital and I'll enjoy looking through all the cards again. :)

ReplyDeleteCorrrrrr.... &*> cleverly cued... now for 2015! YAM xx
That made me giggle, Yam. Yes, it's onward and upward into the new year for me now.
DeleteYour Christmas sounded lovely as ours was too. Hope the next big C, when you visit your Consultant (as Penny says) will stand for Cured.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Molly. So do I. There will; be lots of exercises to do, but I'll do them willingly if I can lose the splint. I'm glad your Christmas was a good one.
DeleteCoo - they didn't waste any time getting you to the consultant once you got home, did they! Great stuff - but don't go too mad even if they say you can leave the splint off! It'll feel very insecure for a while, probably. And watch that driveway of yours if it freezes!!
ReplyDeleteThe surgery rang me the week before Christmas when they got the surgeon's referral letter and said they would arrange an appointment, but of course there are no clinics over the festive season. This must be the first of the new year. There's no way I'll go mad as the wrist is still very tender and will remind me to be careful, especially on ice. :)
DeleteYou've had a lovely time with the family....so here's hoping that the splint comes off to complete such a happy time.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Helen. I'm hoping so too, but not counting on it, as we oldies don't heal as quickly as the youngsters. I'll soon know...
DeleteIt's good to C you blogging again for the first time in 2015, Perpetua. I join with you in sending good wishes to the new Assistant Priest in your newly created 'Ministry Area', as I believe is now the correct designation :-)
ReplyDeleteTravel safely over the A44 tomorrow & I hope and pray that your Consultant can C see progress and healing with regard to your wrist.
I like your Cs too, Ricky. :-) The service was really lovely, with lots of people from all over the Ministry Area there to welcome their new Associate Vicar, as we were told she'd be called. I'm looking forward to getting to know her.
DeleteThe weather forecast is poor but DH is a very good driver and will get me there safely, hopefully to hear good news.
Love your C post, Perpetua. Two concerts with talented grandsons, what bliss! Talented at charades too, your grandies must be destined for the stage...
ReplyDeleteWell done for surviving the season with that poor wrist; it sounds like you had a lovely time, and I too send good wishes for a successful outcome with your Consultant. Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it, Patricia. The concerts were of an extremely high standard considering the ages of the players, all of whom had only had either two or three days of rehearsals. It's the youngest grandson who is an ace at charades - very funny and inventive.
DeleteI was very well looked-after over the festive season, but I am so much looking forward to being able to get back to normal activities, even if very gradually and carefully.
I like this list. It's a really creative way to present recent happenings. I hope all goes well with the consultant tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jennifer. I'm still rather lacking in blogging mojo, but this seemed a fun way to update everyone. I can't wait to be able to type properly again, so hope I'm given permission today.
DeleteGreat C list! Lots of my favourites here. Here's hoping the next list is just as good. Axxx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Annie. Yes, I know your family love the same kinds of activities as our grandsons and they make for such an enjoyable time together. I'm very much hoping to be able to add C for cured to the list today.
DeleteGlad that you have enjoyed a relaxed and happy Christmas with the family Perpetua - hope all goes well for you today at the fracture clinic - fingers crosssed.
ReplyDeleteWe had a super time, Rosemary, and the weather co-operated too, unlike last year. Thanks for the good wishes. I really, really hope the news is good.
DeleteC is for congratulations at having a great Christmas despite your injury.
ReplyDeleteThanks, BtoB. We were both completely spoiled and had a wonderful time.
DeleteI'm so glad you had a nice Christmas with your family, Perpetua. It is nice to hear of grandparents who enjoy going to their grandchildren's concerts. I hope you get good news to day at the fracture clinic, and that your splint can be tossed in the bin.
ReplyDeleteWe had the best time, Kristie and one of the high-spots was the day of the boys' concerts, one in the afternoon and the other in the evening. We'd love to be able to go more often as the standard is so high. The news from the fracture clinic was very positive and I've just blogged about it. :)
